Staff

Based on the gift each one has received, use it to serve others, as good managers of the varied grace of God. If anyone speaks, it should be as one who speaks God’s words; if anyone serves, it should be from the strength God provides, so that God may be glorified through Jesus Christ in everything. To Him belong the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen.  – 1 Peter 4:10-11

Matt joined the staff of Central in November of 2017. He previously served churches in Temple, TX, and while at Seminary in Fort Worth, TX. He and Erin were married in May of 2004. Their son, Parker, is 15 and in the 9th grade. Their daughter, Emerson, is 10 and in 5th Grade.

Matt loves to go on adventures with his family. Whether it is taking a day-trip in the Texas Hill country, going on a family travel adventure out of state, visiting museums and zoos, or exploring state and national parks; they are ready to go and eager to see the world.

Matt loves to read books that challenge his mind and engage his heart. He considers himself a decent baker; willing to try new recipes and eat all the cake he can. He loves supporting his kids whether it is sports, band, or 4H animals; he is cheering them to do their best. He loves to cheer for the Denver Broncos and whoever is playing the Dallas Cowboys. He loves to be in Crusader Stadium cheering on Erin’s alma mater the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.

Matt has a passion for seeing many people hear the Gospel. He loves to preach and teach, counting it a privilege to share the truth of Christ that has changed his heart forever. His hope for Central Baptist church is that it would be a beacon of light to Itasca, Hill County, and to the very ends of the earth. He prays that every person would follow Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, bending and shaping their lives to look more like Jesus every day.
