What to Expect

Thank you for considering worshiping with us at Central Baptist Church. Whether you’re visiting from another church or exploring church for the first time, we’re glad you’re here.

We know visiting a new church can come with questions, so below you’ll find answers to some of the most common ones. If you don’t see what you’re looking for, we’d love to help.

Where Do I Go?

When you arrive at Central Baptist Church for the first time, enter through the main entrance facing Monroe Street, next to the bell tower.

You’ll find a Welcome Desk just inside the doors. Friendly volunteers will be there to greet you, answer questions, and help you find:

  • Seating in the sanctuary
  • Sunday School classes
  • The nursery or children’s areas

What Should I Wear?

We don’t get hung up on what you wear.

At Central Baptist, you’ll see people dressed in everything from jeans to dresses to the occasional necktie. What matters most to us is who you are, not what you’re wearing. Come comfortable and come as you are.

What Kind of Worship Can I Expect?

Our worship is centered on congregational singing and the Word of God.

  • Music is led by a worship team and designed to encourage everyone to sing together
  • Songs include a mix of classic hymns, familiar choruses, and modern worship songs
  • Our service also includes prayer, Scripture reading, and giving
  • You can find out more about our music style HERE.

Preaching is expository, meaning it is rooted in the biblical text and focused on understanding and applying God’s Word.

Our worship service typically lasts between an hour and an hour and a half.

Where Do My Children Go?

We love having children as part of our church family.

Sunday School

  • Sunday School classes are available for all ages
  • Stop by the Welcome Desk and we’ll help you find the right class for your child
  • A volunteer-staffed nursery is available for babies through toddlers

During the Worship Service

  • Children are always welcome to remain in the Worship Service
  • Quiet Trays are available at the Welcome Desk, featuring coloring pages, soft games, and activities to help children stay engaged during the sermon

Children’s Church

  • Offered on the first four Sundays of each month
  • Children leave with volunteers before the sermon for an age-appropriate Bible lesson, songs, and games
  • On 5th Sundays, children remain in the Worship Service with their families
